Trisha & Raj

In Portugal, across four different cities, Trisha Vijay and Raj Thakker crafted a wedding that felt like unfolding a cinematic world. Set across palaces, coastal forts, cliffside views and candlelit gardens around Lisbon, the celebration moved slowly, intentionally — never chasing spectacle, yet impossible to look away from.

The Tamil–Gujarati wedding unfolded through Cascais, Estoril, Loures and Sintra over three days, with each setting revealing a different mood. Fashion became its own language throughout the weekend, with every look designed to evoke a distinct feeling.

The ceremony wardrobe leaned whimsical, romantic and antique, drawing inspiration from early 1900s lacework gowns. In collaboration with Anamika Khanna, Trisha’s wedding look emerged in layered ivories, delicate embroidery and a dramatic embroidered veil that moved softly through the palace corridors as she walked towards the ceremony. For the Oonjal ceremony, she chose an emerald Anita Dongre saree paired with a traditional Guttapusalu necklace as a nod to her Tamil heritage.

Throughout the celebrations, Indian and Portuguese influences intertwined naturally. Fado musicians welcomed guests into the Sangeet while a live string quartet later reimagined old Bollywood classics within the gardens of Queluz Palace.

Guests wandered through historic Portuguese estates holding mango lassis and espresso martinis alike. They listened to live flute music beneath open skies, watched candlelight flicker against centuries-old walls, and danced late into the night beneath the terraces of Queluz Palace.

Featured in Vogue India, The New York Times and Vogue Australia, the wedding stood out for its ability to merge fashion, culture and setting into one cohesive visual language.
